Hello World!

Sometimes I get bored on my days off, especially in the winter. But instead of cleaning my house, I'm starting a blog - because that seemed like a good use of my time. Here's the thing, I'm an incredibly funny and interesting person, so in true Millennial/Gen Z fashion I thought that the world could benefit from my thoughts and opinions. However, my life is pretty boring the majority of the time and if I just wrote about that there would be nothing to say. I've never been very good at journaling anyway. But, I do read a lot and I thought that maybe instead of annoying everyone in my life with all my bookish thoughts - I could write them down here for any random individuals browsing the Internet.

First things first, a little about me. I'm a librarian, which you would think means that I spend my days helping people find books. You'd be wrong. I spend the majority of my time teaching 50+ year olds how to use technology. If I have to explain the Cloud to one more person I may jump off a cliff. But at the end of the day, I am passionate about my profession and I love the people I work with. Libraries are truly special places. I spend my limited personal time reading, writing, visiting the theater, and playing with my cat. Don't worry, I do have friends, unlike those hobbies imply, and they're wonderful. I despise winter, and am only truly happy when it's summer. From late May to early October I'm barely inside; you can catch me at the pool, paddle-boarding at the lake, or getting out of my landlocked home to find the beach. I get the majority of my reading done in the summer, because the best place to read is outside.

So that's me in a nutshell, all the important bits. You'll probably learn more about me as I continue writing here. It's mainly a way to keep myself entertained, but I hope you find something to interest you as I talk endlessly about literature and life. Until next time!
